Wine for The Warmer Season
March 7, 2017
It appears as though chilled rosé is best enjoyed on a warm spring or summer day, but could there be more to the seasonality of your favorite wine? Some sommeliers say yes.
Del Frisco’s Director of Beverage and Wine Education Jessica Norris shares tips for enjoying wines seasonally.
“We often cook with seasonal fruits and vegetables, and wine is no different,” said Norris. “Think lighter and fresher in the spring and summer; richer and weightier in the fall and winter.”
In honor of spring, Norris recommends a dry, crisp rosé that pairs well with fresh salad and seafood dishes.
“Rosé is made in almost every wine producing country in the world from every red grape imaginable,” said Norris. “Springtime kicks off ‘Rosé Season,’ and, with the arrival of warmer weather, rosé is a great choice for sipping on the patio.”
